WHETHER ONE believes in Astrology or not, this subject for sure, seems to be shrouded in mystery to all of us. As much as the fear of ghost haunts from the child to the old, so does the weirdness of this Vedic discipline create anxiety and uncertainty in our minds. In today’s world of intense competition, high hopes and mounting pressures for survival, our minds keep oscillating between perceived notions of planetary strength and psychological apprehensions.

Interestingly, while all predictions of sooth-sayers don’t come true, even the worst critics of fortune telling acknowledge that some forecasts do indeed match very well. This adds more to the confusion – which has resulted in building up of varied myths about Astrology over the ages. Here we are discussing a few such wrong notions on this ancient Vedic Science.

ASTROLOGY IS TANTRA MANTRA BUT NOT SCIENCE

CONTRARY TO popular perceptions, Astrology is no Tantra or Mantra!! It is a Pure Science, discovered by Indian Vedic Saints 4000 years ago!! Although different rituals or solutions (known as Upay) may be associated with Astrology according to some schools of thought, the subject owes its foundation to planets in the solar system. Individual characteristics of these heavenly bodies aspect human beings on earth, the results of which this study tries to discover. For example, if planets are malefically placed in a horoscope or are weak in strength, solutions or rituals hold no good to change the destiny of that person. If fate of an individual can’t be altered with so-called solutions, this proves that Astrology is no Tantra or Mantra!

On the other hand, the origin of fortune telling is intrinsically rooted to Astronomy, without which the subject could never have emerged. There was no telescope four centuries back. Yet, Vedic Saints had deciphered the movement of planets, which modern day astronomers acknowledge as accurate. Still today, no body knows how they achieved such a miraculous feat. What this explains is they had tremendous scientific knowledge even in an ancient age.

Another point to prove its scientific nomenclature is just like science, astrology has logical conclusions too. One can learn the subject using inferences of cause and effect, by interpreting the sequence of events based on attributes of planets and their placements along with movements! While this ancient Indian science cannot make a poor man rich, but advance predictions can save people from many-a-mishaps or help individuals maximize their gains through identification of each one’s planetary strength in the horoscope.

Surely, there is proof enough to believe Astrology is no Tantra or Mantra – But a Pure Science!

GEMSTONES CAN CHANGE PEOPLE’S DESTINY

GEMSTONES ARE highly expensive and costs can range from Rs two thousand to more than a lac. Prohibitive prices, however, don’t deter ordinary people from buying them. Many view these as astrological trump cards that can transform one’s fortunes overnight. But what people fail to realize is that Astrologers wouldn’t have remained soothsayers themselves if precious stones could have changed fate. Just by wearing a few such rings, they should have become rich. Unfortunately, that isn’t the case. So if they can’t change their own destiny by wearing the stones, how can this change others’ fates?

In reality, gemstones are big business, which offers a hefty profit of even upto 60% to the seller. Hence clients are strongly recommended for the same. People, in the hope of seeing a better day, opt for such high cost materials. Later, they realize that it is a total wastage.

However, these costly items can provide some strength or relief of up to 10-15% in certain cases. But considering the high prices, it isn’t a prudent decision to use them where the expected gains are very limited.

SATURN IS THE MOST FEARED PLANET

SATURN IS always perceived with fear and dread – that it may cause extensive loss and damage. This is a wrong identity tag that this planet carries more than the misconception about its troubling nature. Rather Saturn should have the image of conscience – right or wrong.

In reality, the most feared planet is the one of righteousness, and punishes those who take the wrong path in life – hence if you have always led an honest course – you have nothing to be nervous about Saturn. But mind it! Being a planet of justice, people who harm or deceive Saturnians, they have to face severe punishment as retribution. For Saturn will never allow any wrong doer go scot-free.

As the slowest moving planet, Saturnians are generally slow in nature. But they are also highly responsible and dedicated with high levels of commitment. So they are highly trustworthy as well.

On the other hand, Saturn is a signification of assets, and therefore, can bestow immense power and wealth, if strong and well placed. Another attribute of Saturn as also of Rahu is their disturbing nature but not exercising a killing impact. On the other hand, Mars and Ketu are sharp destroyers and usually end up in vandalizing the entire scenario.

So rather than fearing Saturn, we should dread our own conscience of right and wrong!

VASHIKARAN CAN SOLVE LIFE’S PROBLEMS

ONE MAY often hear the word Vashikaran from Astrologers – i.e. a method used by them to turn the tide in your favour and solve all your problems – personal or professional.

Vashikaran in 1 day or Vashikaran in 1 hour. – Had that been true, nobody would have had any problems in life. Say, somebody is suffering from cancer, and within a day or an hour of Vashikaran it gets cured – Is that possible? Or for that matter, there would be no poor man on earth or no human suffering.

Sadly, when one gets into serious trouble, whether on family, professional or health issues, and an element of helplessness creeps into us, and we lose all our sense of reasoning. Taking advantage of such distressed situation, some unscrupulous astrologers take people for a ride.

Numerous such cases get reported where the hopefuls are promised of miracles in their life – be it in education, married life or on the job front or even in cases of serious health issues. Most people, believing this as to be true, end up paying Rs 5,000/- to 30,000/- for the so called miracle – only to discover later that they have been duped!

ASTROLOGY CAN HARM OTHERS

MANY PEOPLE fear that with obscure astrological procedures, others would be able to cast destructive evil spirits like black magic or tantric effects to cause harm. And what’s more astonishing is, the spell of astrological influence, often convinces the most well to do in society to blindly believe in such a force. They fail to realize that had it been so easy to bring about the downfall of others through some bizarre customs, then vanquishing your enemy would have been the easiest. Just perform some of these practices on opponents you would like to dethrone – and thereafter, you emerge as the king. Politicians would have outdone each other in no time. And especially during elections, astrology would be the most potent weapon to defeat your rival – and not through election speeches or campaigning.

One should realize that these are spread by vested interests to further their business considerations. Our weaknesses to the fallout of such so-called measures have only added to our misconceptions on astrology.
